Celestine : Midcentury Diamond Brooch / Enhancer in 14ct White Gold

Sold This is a jewel for being noticed. A mid-20th Century take on the starburst, this 1940s brooch is set with over 2.5 carats of fine white natural diamonds, set into a one-of-a-kind handmade jewel that can be worn as a brooch, a necklace enhancer or a hair ornament. It gives the appearance of kinetic movement and sparkles like all get out in any lighting situation. It’s part starburst, part bow and part satellite. This magnificent piece would look stunning worn on the lapel of a person of any gender. A gloriously sparkly pinwheel, perfect for stealing the limelight. Manufacture:  Modelled in 14ct white gold throughout, it is marked 585 for 14ct gold to the reverse, along with makers mark RMU. Likely made in continental Europe. Over 2.6 carats of round cut fine white diamonds are individually claw set into the brooch. There are a mixture of early brilliant, single cut, and modern round brilliant cut diamonds. They have been verified by an independent gemologist as natural diamonds, and graded (whilst set) as ranging from F – I in colour and Si in clarity. On the reverse the piece has two loops to enable it to be worn on a chain or a string of small pearls, these loops could also be used with bobby pins to fasten into an upswept hairdo. There is also a brooch pin that fastens with a trombone safety clasp, making this a most versatile and wearable jewel. The piece measures 32.58mm x 33.53mm x 7mm (not including the fasteners on the reverse). Weighs 11.72 grams. Condition:  Excellent vintage condition.
