Prepare the machine by attaching the appropriate Cimex pads or brushes for your carpet type and filling the solution tank with water and a specialized encapsulation cleaning agent, mixed according to the manufacturer’s directions for the soil level. Before starting on the main area, it’s a good practice to slightly dampen the pads with the cleaning solution. Operate the machine by making a relatively quick “wet pass” over a section of the carpet, applying the solution, followed immediately by a slower “dry pass” over the same area to agitate and work the solution into the carpet fibers. The goal is to apply just enough solution to see a light whitening or thin layer of foam, as over-wetting should be avoided. Continue this process in overlapping sections until the entire carpet has been treated. After the carpet is completely dry, the encapsulated dirt and cleaning solution will have formed crystals, not visible to us.
